Job Title: Biospecimen Coordinator
The Biospecimen Coordinator secures, processes, delivers and ships clinical specimens are required by the protocol. This individual works in close partnership with the clinical team and Clinical Research Coordinators.
The Biospecimen Coordinator assists the Clinical Research Coordinators with activities including, but not limited to, the preparation of the specimen kits, coordination of dropping and picking up of the specimens, and sample query resolutions. S/he also works with external vendors.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Secures, processes, delivers and
ships clinical specimens are required by the protocol.
Assists in preparing of the specimen kits.
Coordinates specimen drop off and pick up from various departments such as the inpatient and outpatient units.
Prepares and maintains detailed documentation of the specimens along with the requisition source and tracking number.
Participates in internal correlative initiatives within the Multiple Myeloma program.
Works closely with the clinical and research team in a collaborative effort to carry out procedures related to the clinical study protocols.
Performs activities in accordance with established policies and procedures related to clinical research study protocols, including but not limited to: answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, assist with data entry, and review of safety reports.
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience/education required.
0-1 year of lab experience. Lab processing experience desirable
Oncology knowledge desirable
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and schedules.
