Roles & Responsibilities:

A position at the Ntranos Lab at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is available for an inquisitive and talented individual who is interested in conducting cutting edge translational research at the interface of neurology and immunology as an Associate Researcher.

 

The appointed Associate Researcher will be immersed in an innovative, collaborative and productive environment at the Ntranos Lab at Mount Sinai, located in the upper east side of New York City. The Ntranos Lab studies the mechanisms through which the immune system contributes to autoimmune diseases of the brain and spinal cord, such as multiple sclerosis, and is developing novel treatment strategies to stop disease in each individual patient. Our research integrates patient derived data with mouse models of disease to establish causation rather than correlation and develop the next generation of therapeutics. The ideal candidate would have strong work ethic and organizational skills and be excited to learn and advance his/her research skills.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Conducts experiments and performs assays to support research studies
  • Analyzes and assists in interpreting laboratory results of moderate complexity
  • Maintains laboratory environment and animal colonies
  • Collects and processes patient samples
  • Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation
  • Other duties as assigned
 
 
Requirements:
  • BSc/BA in science or relevant field
  • Research/laboratory experience preferred but not required
  • An analytical mindset with organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
