We are accelerating a transition to a business model focused on population health management – our goal is to keep entire communities healthy and out of the hospital.  Mount Sinai Health Partners (MSHP) is the team driving this transformation within Mount Sinai.  The team includes 400+ employees with clinical, contracting, finance, IT, analytics, operations, and product development expertise.

 

Within MSHP, the Clinical Operations Team drives the implementation and ongoing improvement of clinical initiatives that enable Mount Sinai to deliver better value to its patients, its providers, its customers (i.e., plan sponsors and payers), and its partners. At Mount Sinai, value is defined broadly and encompasses improved health outcomes, more efficient operations, better patient experience, more joyful care team environment, and improved financial performance.

 

Role Summary

 

MSHP seeks an Intern to conduct a needs assessment and create a program plan for a medical student fellowship/internship in population health.

 

Project deliverables will include:

 

·         Conducting and summarizing interviews with physicians, medical students and administrators

·         Researching and documenting medical student fellowship programs at other institution

·         Developing recommendations for program design and financial model

·         Partnering with the MSHP Provider Engagement team to focus on a medical practice and EMR optimization

·         Presentation of final recommendations to MSHP senior leadership team and Clinical Operations leadership



Requirements:

         Currently enrolled in an accredited graduate and/or M.D. program

  • ·         Outgoing and comfortable speaking with others in a professional environment

    ·         Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

    ·         Ability to commit to 25-30 hours per week
