Roles & Responsibilities:
  • A Postdoctoral Position is available in a Structural and Chemical Epigenetics Laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai that studies fundamental molecular mechanisms of epigenetic gene transcriptional regulation in biology and human diseases. The research lab is surrounded by an interdisciplinary research environment and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for structural/chemical biology, chromatin biology and immunology. A selected individual will work with scientists of complementary expertise on cellular and in vivo mouse models of T-helper cell development and epigenetic disease mechanisms of cancer as well as inflammatory and autoimmune disorders using chromatin/chemical biology and genomics techniques. The successful candidate must be highly motivated to tackle challenging problems in research and a PhD degree in Chemistry and research experience in chemical biology and small molecule chemical synthesis. Other skills in computational modeling and structure-based drug design are a plus. Strong communication skills are desirable.
