Associate Director of Development, Annual Fund, Children’s Health

                                                                                                                                              

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Development, Children’s, to join a growing Leadership and Annual Programs area. They will be part of a development program entering a comprehensive campaign charged with raising two billion dollars. 

The Associate Director of Development, Children’s will be a self-starter who enjoys working with donors and prospects in a hospital and scientific setting, as well as possess strong skills as a project manager. The Associate Director will provide leadership and oversight for the Board for the Department of Pediatrics, known as the Mount Sinai Children’s Center Foundation, comprised of donors giving at the 5- 6- and 7-figure level, and will also have oversight for the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute Board. The Associate Director will manage all aspects of the CCF including planning and implementing meetings designed to grow the group’s commitment to Mount Sinai, and for securing philanthropic support for Mount Sinai.

The Associate Director will focus on securing leadership annual gifts starting at the $25K annual level for and develop a high-end annual, major gift pipeline of committed donors to children’s health. The portfolio will include a mix of donors, prospects, suspects. 

Roles & Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead high-end annual giving fundraising for Children’s Health strategic priorities at Mount Sinai with an emphasis on strategic priorities including food allergy and our NICU efforts, while also working to drive unrestricted annual revenue through our new Children’s Health Campaign.
  • Build robust pipeline of high-end annual/low-end major donors for Pediatrics and the Mindich Child Health and Development Institute.
  • Oversee the Mount Sinai Children’s Center Foundation, the Pediatrics Board, to strategically grow the board as well as annual and major gift support
  • Provide guidance, strategic direction and high-level support to the CCF’s annual benefit which raises approximately $1M annually to increase revenue in subsequent years. 
  • Manage the Jaffe Food Allergy Board helping to strategically grow the board and support of board members.
  • Partner with Senior Director of Development on children’s health campaign fundraising activities.
  • Manage a Leadership Annual Gift Prospect portfolio of 150-200 donors, prospects, and potential prospects in the $25K+ gift capacity level for Children’s Health.
  • Evaluate various gift opportunities and giving vehicles and recommend the most suitable for a particular donor.  When appropriate, develop, write, and present proposals appropriate to donor’s interest and financial situation.
  • Interact with internal contacts such as Deans, Directors, Faculty and Development staff as needed.
  • Support the engagement process to close as many high-end annual commitments supporting Children’s Health and strategic priorities as possible at the highest levels.
  • Establish and meet annual goals including, dollars raised, renewal percentages, and program pipeline development
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.
  • 6+ years of fundraising experience with emphasis on annual giving, health care setting preferred. 
  • Microsoft Office. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred
