The Mount Sinai Parenting Center (MSPC) is located in the Department of Pediatrics in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The Center's mission is to transform the way pediatric healthcare is delivered by maximizing opportunities to promote strong parent-child relationships and early child development within everyday healthcare interactions. Through provider training, environmental transformation and pioneering research, our easily scalable programming leverages the healthcare space to reach families in the earliest years. We are seeking a smart, hard-working, diligent individual to join our team of interdisciplinary healthcare professionals.

 

The Associate Director – Operations and Programming is a senior management position, created to partner with MSPC’s Executive Director and Director of Programs in instilling structure and operational diligence to the growing programs and team. The position will have day-to-day responsibility for the efficient running of MSPC operations. The Associate Director should thrive in a collaborative start-up environment and have a commitment to delivering high-quality programming that will be implemented within Mount Sinai Health system and externally with our partners. This role involves: 

 
Roles & Responsibilities: 
 
  • Enhance systems for efficient operations in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: facilities, human resources, accounting, communications, and data management
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure clear and consistent execution of programs and operations
  • Identify where technology can improve operations. Research, select and implement technology solutions
  • Support the Director of Programs, and oversee Project Managers
  • Enhance and universalize project management tools across programs
  • Develop and implement standard internal program reporting standards
  • Tailor program evaluation tools and assessments to each new program
  • Track necessary program data and present outcomes assessments
  • Oversee relationships with external partners 
  • Act as liaison between Mount Sinai Finance department and Parenting Center team 
  • Reconcile spending against financial ledgers on monthly basis 
  • Review actual project spending against budgeted amount on monthly basis; instruct project managers to take action accordingly 
  • Create budgets for new projects and forecast future spending across the Center 
  • Oversee payment of third party vendors 
    Interview, recruit and onboard new staff
  • Conduct staff performance reviews
  • Provide coaching and performance improvement guidance to direct reports
  • Support the Executive Director in communications with the Mount Sinai Development Office 
  • Create tailored presentations for potential funders
  • Manage grants and contracts, ensuring MSPC meets all requirements, including timely and accurate reporting
  • Plan and implement MSPC fundraising and media events, as they arise, in conjunction with Mount Sinai Development and Events team
  • Oversee MSPC website and social media presence
 
 
Requirements: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in public health/administration or business or a related field or equivalent education and experience; Masters (MPA, MPH, MBA or related) is preferred
  • 2+ years managing staff; hiring and building teams; handling human resource matters; coaching staff
  • 3+ years in program or project management; creating project plans, instituting process, adhering to deadlines and budgets 
  • Significant experience writing executive level communication 
  • Basic accounting knowledge and able to read non-profit financial statements 
  • Experience working within a healthcare system or with healthcare administration
