Roles & Responsibilities:
- Rafal will be involved in a research project to streamline the sample preparation for single-cell epigenomics by utilizing expertize on epigenomics and microfluidics, with an ultimate goal to elucidate the heterogeneity of lineage programs in lung cancers. The single-cell epigenomics project will build on our expertise in single-cell manipulation and magnetic extraction. Rafal will participate in our weekly joint lab meeting with Dr. Powell's and Dr. Zhu's lab, and will have opportunities to present his work in progress at this meeting. He will also attend several pertinent seminar series including Grand Rounds in our Department and ones from Oncological Sciences Department and Tisch Cancer Institute.
- Primary activities include maintaining cancer cell lines, optimizing workflow for chromatin accessibility assay, and performing related genomic assays. Rafal will be responsible for the quality control assessment of the samples as well as data analysis and interpretation. He will also assist with experiments for other members in the laboratory and interact with them at daily basis.
