What You’ll Do:

The Senior Sourcing Agent is responsible for providing sourcing services to the organization based on predefined service levels. The Agent will execute a sourcing project from start to finish that includes requirements analysis for the bid packages, communicating with the requesters to close any data gaps, publishing the package to the identified suppliers for bidding purposes, following up with the suppliers to ensure adequate participation, summarizing proposals back to the requestor.  Works under general direction from the Sourcing Leader.  The Sourcing agent will work on projects under the direction Sourcing Leaders and will be tasked with certain projects.
 
 
Principal Responsibilities:     
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
  • Assesses Needs and Initiate Sourcing Projects-Initiate new projects based on high spend profile, potential for savings, upcoming contract expirations, and capital projects.  Assists internal clients specify needs and define supplier performance expectations. Analyzes and validate policies and practices driving demands.
  • Sourcing Strategies -Define sourcing strategies that optimize value in light of client needs and market conditions. Applies project management skills that achieve project timing and service and savings objectives and assesses most beneficial means to access markets and drive the supplier behavior accordingly.
  • Market Evaluations - Gather and interpret market and competitive intelligence through formal and informal processes. Advocates competitive decision-making in the most efficient, least resource-intense process and evaluates supplier capabilities to meet our needs through fair and thorough techniques.
  • Analyzation Skills-Must possess the skills to interpret and analyze data both financially and clinically in order to present and interpret outcomes.  Must be able to explain and convey data to all end users.  Must be able to identify sourcing opportunities from data.
  • Supplier Selection and Contracting - Establish business cases supporting sourcing recommendations. Conducts negotiations with suppliers on pricing and contractual terms and conditions and develops contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies.
  • Implementation and Supplier Relationship Management Partner with internal clients to implement efficient ordering routines that include appropriate controls. Assists departments implement sourcing changes, especially if moving to a new supplier and for more significant spends and services.
  • Contract Background-Must be able to analyze contracts, terms and conditions, and ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to the product, service, supplier in question and those ramifications within the hospital. Develop contracts supporting our business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies
  • Works with Implementations Manager, Finance and departments to quantify the budget impacts of implementing new contracts (i.e., savings). Works with IT, establish automated processes to enable efficient supplier interfaces in a controlled, integrated and cost-effective manner. Works with internal clients, periodically review supplier effectiveness; remain abreast of evolving internal client needs and keep clients aware of evolving market capabilities.
     
     
     
    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Minimum of five years or equivalent, strategic sourcing responsibilities for various commodities—both products and services within and outside healthcare organizations of work experience in operational, procurement, sourcing. High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Knowledge of procurement/sourcing process Desired Skills Sets: - Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data in excel - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills - knowledge and understanding of sourcing/procurement - Ability to follow a process based on documented guidelines.   Ability to take direction form senior leaders in department.
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
    Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) or other recognized certification.  Equivalents accepted upon review.
