Pharmacy Manager (Evening Shifts) - 73312
What You’ll Do:
1. Coordinates and supervises the activities in the Main Pharmacy and related areas
2. Maintains the accuracy of records for all pre-packed and manufactured items
3. Assures the accuracy of all pre-packed and manufactured items, by requiring that only adequately trained and supervised employees are responsible for the process and that all necessary checks are in place and carried out
4. Monitors that quality assurance procedures are followed for all manufacturing, prepackaging, unit dose, chemotherapy, and other inpatient activities
5. Assures the accuracy of all inventory and associated records for all controlled substances and alcohol supplies
6. Maintains all records in accordance with Federal, State and institutional regulations
7. Responsible for the scheduling of work (in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisors) in the department
8. Maintains the department Security System
9. Assures that IV area inspections are performed as required (Hoods, etc.)
10.Maintain ability to function as a registered pharmacist when need arises
11.Responsible for operation of ATC machine, Access machine, Omnicell and all related paperwork
12.Maintains records of all Patient Care Unit inspections
13.Assures all Patient Care Unit/Controlled Substance inspections and inventories are completed per policy and procedure
14.Responsible for the manufacturing and prepackaging of pharmaceuticals
15.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area
16.Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities
17.Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information
18.Supervises activities in the Main Pharmacy and related areas on all shifts
19.Assists Clinical Supervisor with the monitoring of staff in all clinical programs
20.Responsible for the orientation and training of all new employees
21.Responsible for the training and certification of all employees in areas specified by department policy and procedure
22.Participates in the performance evaluation of department employees
23.Participates in the hiring and discipline of department employees
24.Assures that present employees meet institutional and department standards
25.Conducts scheduled staff meetings in accordance with standards
26.Recommends and introduces new programs for the department in accordance with established goals and objectives
27.Participates in institutional-wide research programs
28.Supervises and plans pharmacy student externship program

29.Participates in the development of other staff members
30.Meets regulatory, licensure and annual health assessment requirements
31.Identifies learning strengths and needs
32.Utilizes learning resources
33.Meets all educational requirements as set forth by New York State regulations
34.Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and significant others
35.Displays courtesy, tact and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital staff and extended community
36.Supports ongoing education of other professional personnel, including the Departments of Medicine and Nursing, throughout the institution
37.Participates in Nursing/Pharmacy Committee meetings
38.Adheres to legal and ethical standards
39.Performs other duties as assigned
