Job Title: Physician Assistant


The Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai – Beth Israel (AIMS-BI) offers the full range of addiction treatment services from Ambulatory Withdrawal Management and Outpatient Rehabilitation to inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation.  In addition, our system includes the largest Opioid Treatment Program in the country.

 

At Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai Beth Israel our Physician Assistants are caring for a critically ill patient as part of an interdisciplinary team with a common goal to provide world-class patient care.  At Mount Sinai, we advance innovation by leveraging progressive technologies, such as our state-of-the-art simulation training labs. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration.
  • Assesses patients’ needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician
  • Provides health teaching, guidance and counseling 
  • Makes appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physician
  • Performs complete physical exams utilizing customary techniques
  • Orders diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physician
  • Orders medication in collaboration with physician 



  

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Three to five years equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • New York State license as a Registered Physician Assistant.Certification through completion of national boards preferred
