Job Title: Clinical Coordinator

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care and practice within a specific unit or units on a 24 hour basis
  • Maintains standards of nursing care and practice by supervising and evaluating unit personnel
  • Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing care administered to patients on the unit
  • Reviews and analyzes trends pertinent to nursing care and initiates appropriate nursing care practices
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area
  • Directs, administers and assigns patient care activities of professional nursing and ancillary nursing personnel
  • Hires employees, extends probation, disciplines and terminates employees in consultation with the Director, Nursing for designated area
  • Reviews clinical performance of nursing personnel via anecdotal records, conferences and evaluation process
  • Participates in the Department of Nursing’s and the Hospital Center’s Quality Improvement Program
  Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required
  • Demonstrated competence in nursing leadership.
  • Experience and demonstrated competency in applicable clinical specialty. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional growth and development. Eligibility for joint appointment with University affiliation.
  • Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State
