Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychiatric outpatient intakes for Adult (POSA) and Child (POSC) patients

  • Complete a rotation on one inpatient psychiatry unit, which includes conducting admission intakes, providing individual and group psychotherapy, conducting psychological testing, and attending daily morning inpatient interdisciplinary rounds.

  • Coordinate patient care with other treatment providers (e.g., psychiatrists, social workers) when clinically appropriate.

  • Responsible for creating accurate and informative chart notes and treatment plans for each patient they serve as part of the official medical record, including individual, group, family, adult, child, inpatient, outpatient, and psychological testing cases.

  • Conduct neuropsychological testing for adult outpatients.

  • Conduct psychological testing for outpatient child cases.

  • Conduct psychological testing for both inpatient and outpatient adult cases.

  • Provide both adult (POSA) and child (POSC) group psychotherapy.

  • Provide individual child and family therapy in POSC.

  • Provide outpatient individual adult psychotherapy in POSA.


 Requirements:

  •  Must be enrolled and in good standing in an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral program in either Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • In addition to the theoretical foundation gained from coursework and research in the Psychology Doctoral program they attend, Psychology Interns must also have obtained prior sufficient supervised clinical experience in order to be prepared for the demands and responsibilities outlined above.
