Job Description

Responsible for providing teaching/learning in assigned courses. Assumes responsibility for maintaining the Campus Skills Laboratory for teaching/ learning and practice of psychomotor skills, and is also knowledgeable of utilizing audio-visual and computer-assisted materials to enhance learning. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center.
III. DESCRIPTION OF COMPETENCIES A. Clinical/Technical/Service
 Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks:
 Responsible for setting up the lab in preparation for skill competencies.
 
 Prepares the clinical laboratory with appropriate equipment to simulate clinical practice.
 
 Conducts orientation sessions for students in the use of the electronic mannequins.
 
 Provides orientation sessions for faculty in the variety of procedures that can be demonstrated on the electronic mannequins.
 
 Collaborates with faculty in planning their schedules for use of the laboratory.
 
 Maintains inventory of supplies needed for the lab.
 
 Ensures preventative maintenance of the equipment in the lab
 
 Collaborates with the Learning Resource Personnel in maintaining AV material that is current and meets the needs of students.
 
 Maintains daily attendance of students’ practice session in the lab.
 
 Maintains a current manual of the policies and procedures of the MSHS.

 Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.
 
 Maintains student/employee confidentiality in the management of information.
 
 Observes the Health Care System’s compliance policies.
 
 Adheres to school/faculty policies.
 
 Contributes data for annual reports and submits Self-Study Report.
 
 Observes the Health Care System’s compliance policies.
 
 Communicates with Associate Dean regarding problems occurring in the use of campus laboratory equipment and other equipment for the clinical laboratory.
 
 Participates in orientation programs.
 
 Participates in school functions.
