Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Operates telephone console, switchboard and page hospital staff

2. Issues patient information and related tasks

3. Utilizes all resources, data and equipment within Telecommunication operations which enables assistants to inform and direct medical staff, personnel and inquiring parties seeking patient care services

4. Facilitates and maintains reports and documentation of all occurrences, codes and emergencies within the Telecommunication department and all Continuum’s Health Partners facilities and submit to Telecommunication Supervisor(s)

5. Provides assistance with all callers with communication difficulties such as: sign language, TTY Machine, relays calls and language translations via third party language line

6. Responsible for maintaining all departmental equipment and workstation in good condition

7. Responsible for the preparation of Daily On-Call Medical Code Sheet and Emergency schedules

8. Notifies all appropriate personnel and departments on repairs, outages, data and emergencies

9. Operates consoles and switchboards; answers and connects incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls to the proper destination

10. Answers all departmental phones when required
