Job Summary 

Plans organizes and directs laboratory operations including remote lab sites, analyzing, evaluating and initiating improvements in operating systems, and managing the diverse organizational accountabilities.


Roles & Responsibilities: 
Oversight of all laboratory operations, including all remote lab sites, ensuring compliance with all current regulatory guidelines. 
Performs laboratory operations to include all remote lab sites, efficiently utilizing tools and resources of the department and effectively supports the delivery of high quality patient care. 
Interacts with other departments and corporate affiliates to resolve problems, introduce new services, and provide consultative services. 
Investigates and responds to incident reports, gathers data, and resolves issues. 
Institutes specimen handling and laboratory procedures designed to protect laboratory personnel while delivering high quality test results in a timely fashion. 
Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements. 
Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances. 

Education Requirements:


Bachelors Degree in related field required 

Experience Requirements: 

At least 5 years in a Clinical Laboratory setting.
At least 2 years supervisory experience.  

Licensing and Certification Requirements: 

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required

Computer Skills:
 

Microsoft Office - Intermediate
