Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks.
  • Provides timely and accurate interpretation
  • Keeps daily interpreter log sheet
  • Helps to determine staffing needs and provide coverage when necessary
  • Assists with on-going recruitment of volunteer interpreters
  • Assists with interviewing, screening, training or orientation of volunteer interpreters
  • Mentors new volunteer interpreters
  • Assists in supervising volunteer interpreters providing necessary guidance on performance, work hours and assigned areas 
  • Assists director with the organization and presentation of staff in-services
  • Educates providers to work effectively with interpreters
  • Raises general awareness of department services
  • College degree required.

  • Native fluency in Spanish and excellent command of the English language with at least two year of experience on medical interpreting.

  • Medical interpretation training, CCHI or CHI certification preferred.
