Job Title: Central Supply Technician Level 2 

 
 

Roles & Responsibilities:

 
  • Inform staff of daily turnovers and OR requirements.
  • Huddle. Meet with OR Management to discuss scheduling of cases and instrumentation issues and progress.
  • Pull and document surgical trays for sharping and repair.
  • Repair of scopes and power equipment, RMAs.
  • Modify instrumentation per surgeon’s request.
  • Organizing instrumentation sterile storage locations.
  • Communicate loaners and status to OR Management.
  • Meet with Program Mangers and Surgeons to create surgical trays.
  • Research, receive quotes and order instrumentation.
  • Work with in-house vendor reps to build trays and count sheets.
  • Maintain and control surgical instrumentation inventors.
  • Work and coordinate with Materials Management for materials and capital purchasing.
  • Work with IT regarding updates of Abacus workstations, and office equipment.
  • Assist OR staff in emergencies for procedures and Instrument need.
  • Educate staff. Create educational materials, pictures, ect.
  • Communicate OR Issues and provide information to supervisor and management.
  • Expedite approvals for purchasing and accounts payable.
  • Act as liaison of the OR to CSPD.
  • Delinquent invoices with vendors
 
Requirements:
  • A minimum of an associate degree in Healthcare related field or a combination of similar education and experience or minimum of five years’ experience in sterile processing.
  • Demonstrates ability to work well with others as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.   Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and do basic mathematical calculations.
  • Position requires flexible work schedule, weekends and holidays.
  • Computer proficiency must include: word processing and spread sheets and some basic familiarity with instrument tracking systems.
  • At least two years of experience processing Surgical Instruments.
  • Able to read OR Schedule and coordinate with OR managers.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assume supervisory role in absence of a shift manager.
