Job Title: Per Diem Dental Assistant 


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Performs chair side assisting in all phases of dentistry
  • Takes and develops all necessary radiographs
  • Places dental chart and patient in assigned room
  • Checks and maintains inventory of supplies in the clinical area and operatories
  • Maintains and cleans clinic equipment on a daily/weekly basis
  • Reports all broken or malfunctioning equipment to the Dental Hygienist Supervisor and in her absence the Clinical Coordinator
  • Participates in the cleansing, wrapping and sterilization of all clinic equipment
  • Pours molds from alginate impressions as directed by the dentist
  • Reports any patient conflicts or clinic problems to the Dental Hygienist and in her absence to the Clinical Coordinator
  • Keeps daily log of prosthetic payments and authorized laboratory work
  • Keeps daily log of staff  and residents time sheets
  • Fills out Medicaid and insurance forms when necessary
  • Assumes clerical responsibilities of the clinic where necessary


Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certified Dental Assistant     
  • Two to four years dental assisting experience preferred.
  • Moderate Physical Activity (e.g., occasional to prolonged standing, lifting, bending, filing, typing, etc.)
