Deputy Chief Nursing Officer - St. Luke's Hospital - 79036


Roles & Responsibilities:

The Mount Sinai St. Luke's in need of a Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for our 495 bedded, level 2 trauma center.  

The  Deputy Director, Nursing, has a broad area of accountability across the hospital  scope of the patient service line including all levels of professional Registered Nurses; Advanced Practice Nurses, and Assistive Staff overseeing clinical and quality  performance as well as managing daily operations.

  • Provides full clinical, operational and strategic oversight to the Department of Nursing in an academic, research and clinical platform for both inpatient and critical care. In this capacity, this individual is accountable for the high level clinical performance of the Department of Nursing across multiple clinical specialty services. Operational clinical oversight insures efficient and effective professional practice and patient care delivery to support patient satisfaction, excellence in nursing care, RN job engagement and quality outcomes.
  • Clinical leadership/Administration of the Med/Surg, ICU, and Telemetry service linesManagement of Human Resources and Professional Development of staff
  • Fiscal management/budgeting
  • Performance improvement and quality improvement based projects
  • Work with the Senior Vice President of Nursing
  • Bachelors, Required
  • Master, Required
  • Doctorate, preferred
  • NYS RN
  • Demonstration expertise in specialized practice area and management of the nursing core activities of education, research, recruitment/retention and professional practice. 
  • Lean certified, strongly preferred
