The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for all aspects of retail and specialty pharmacy operation. Provides guidance to Pharmacy staff, and Monitor compliance with clinical services, policies and procedures, Federal & state Laws. Training and development of pharmacy staff. Role & Responsibilities
Operations: Responsible for monitoring day to day all aspect of pharmacy operation, oversee prescriptions, counsel patients, consult with physicians. Open and close pharmacy, maintain protocols, manage inventory. Performs all duties associated with the Registered Pharmacist position when required. Adhere to controlled Substance Laws.
Acts as the Director’s agent in her/his absence.
Staff management & annual appraisal:Training & skill’s Development. Led the development of the pharmacy team, Ensures staff completed Peak required training.
Conduct new employee training and on going development. Ensures adequate inventory of medications is maintained. Ensure adequate staffing at all time. Maintain a safe , clean working environment. Updates on new medications, new rules and regulations. Ensures audit compliance. Complete all required staff performance annual appraisals, and attendance records.
Communication & Customer Service:Good verbal communication skills to explain medication, dosages to patients and direct staff effectively. Counsel patients and address problems and complaints. Leadership skills, Lead by example, supervising staff organized professional and listening skills.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Advanced degree (MS, Pharm D) preferred.
Current New York License and Registration as pharmacist
Minimum Related Experience
Previous 5 years outpatient retail experience
Previous managerial experience
Proficient in MS Word, Excel & Outlook
Knowledge of QS1 pharmacy software preferred
Adaptability, strong communication skills and attention to detail, excellent customer service. Strong decision-making, initiates actions, manage work effectively, maintain stable performance under pressure. Manage tasks in a timely manner.
