Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Carries out the duties and responsibilities supportive of and complementary to the welfare and care of the dental clinic patients. 


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                             

    1.      Performs chair side assisting in all phases of dentistry

    2.      Takes and develops all necessary radiographs

    3.      Places dental chart and patient in assigned room

    4.      Checks and maintains inventory of supplies in the clinical area and operatories

    5.      Maintains and cleans clinic equipment on a daily/weekly basis

    6.      Reports all broken or malfunctioning equipment to the Dental Hygienist Supervisor and in her absence the Clinical Coordinator

    7.      Participates in the cleansing, wrapping and sterilization of all clinic equipment

    8.      Pours molds from alginate impressions as directed by the dentist

    9.      Reports any patient conflicts or clinic problems to the Dental Hygienist and in her absence to the Clinical Coordinator

    10.  Keeps daily log of prosthetic payments and authorized laboratory work

    11.  Keeps daily log of staff  and residents time sheets

    12.  Fills out Medicaid and insurance forms when necessary

    13.  Assumes clerical responsibilities of the clinic where necessary


    Education Requirements                                                                                                                 

    High school graduate or equivalent.


    Experience Requirements                                                                                                               

    Two to four years dental assisting experience preferred.
