Job Summary

To provide clinical counseling services to patients receiving opioid maintenance treatment at the Mount Sinai West Opioid Treatment Program


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Provides individual adn group psychosocial counselling utilizing evidence based best practices to patient enrolled in the Opioid Treatment Program
  • Attends and participates proactively in team meetings
  • documents clinical work in the medical record according to OASAS and SAMHSA regulations
  • Manages the care of the assigned patients
  • Participates in clinical supervision
  • Provides reports of clinical services to supervisor when requested
  • Make referrals to appropriate resources for the ongoing care of patients
  • Interfaces with managed care companies and referral sources to implement treatment plans
  • Provides consultation to patients throughout the Mount Sinai West hospital when requested


Education Requirements:


High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelors Degree required

Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling preferred

Training and prior experience in Addiction Counseling strongly preferred


Experience Requirements:

A minimum of one year as a Counselor or other mental health clinician title required

Licensing and Certification Requirements:

CASAC or MSW/LCSW or LMHC or PhD required


Computer Skills:


Microsoft Office - Beginner
