Roles & Responsibilities:
Mount Sinai Brooklyn.  A 212-bed community hospital located in the residential Midwood community of Brooklyn. We are seeking a dynamic leader with an ability to lead the Hospital’s objectives for Nursing.  Maintenance of standards and program development.
  • Responsible for the oversight of nursing operations. Serve as a liaison among multiple stakeholders, including administration, physicians, patients, families, nursing staff, support staff and other members of the organization. Ensures the program meets the highest standards of patient care, is responsible to the needs of the organization and is financially responsible.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, clinical nurse practices, budget management, monthly reporting, staff education, development of managerial staff, performance evaluation management, quality and safety and Joint Commission preparedness, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements, staffing, recruitment, labor relations and performance improvement activities. Promotes patient and family satisfaction and strategizes with administrative staff in implementing customer service initiatives
  • Collaborates with administrative staff, department heads, medical staff to plan, problem-solve, implement and evaluate programs, make recommendations regarding departmental policies, practice issues  and decisions which affect the delivery of patient care to enhance the appropriateness and efficiency of nursing services.  Clinical leader in developing, implementing and monitoring hospital-wide performance improvement activities.


  • The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated management success, relevant clinical experience, and Advanced degree in Nursing. Master's degree in Business Administration a plus. Current NYS Registered Nurse License, 5 years of progressive management experience in a unionized environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
