Intensivist in Cardiovascular Surgery Position!

We are seeking to recruit outstanding Intensivists to join the Mount Sinai team in the Cardiothoracic ICUs at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai St. Luke’s campuses.  These ICUs is looking for energetic, astute Intensivists who want to join a collaborative and hard working team dedicated to quality outcomes, teaching and research. Experience in fellowship training or as an attending with critically ill cardiac and cardiothoracic patients is preferred. Candidates will be expected to be proficient with standard intensive care procedures (central lines, S-G catheter placement etc). Responsibilities will include managing patients after cardiothoracic surgery with a team of PA’s/NP’s, residents and fellows, and include day, evening and weekend shifts. 

Candidates should be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine. Physicians who may wish to divide their efforts between Critical Care and a primary specialty (e.g., Anesthesiology, Surgery, & Medicine) are encouraged to apply.

The position will include an academic appointment in the candidates primary specialty as well as a cross appointment in the Institute for Critical Care Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. We offer employees a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, a 403(b) retirement plan, and much more.

  • 26 bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU
  • >1800 cardiac surgery cases each year and growing
  • Routine & Complex Cardiac surgical cases
  • Heart transplants, LVAD, ECMO, TAH, 
  • Transcatheter Valvular Procedures
  • 24/7 Attending coverage

The Cardiothoracic ICU at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital:
  • 12 Bed Cardiovascular Surgery ICU
  • Routine and Complex cardiac surgical cases
  • Robotic Surgery
  • Expanding Critical Care Team
