Endocrinologist for South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside!

Job Description

South Nassau Communities Hospital is currently seeking a full-time general endocrinology physician. The chosen candidate will become part of a multi-specialty team in a hospital located in Nassau County on Long Island. The candidate must have an interest in providing office-based endocrinology services. He or she will work with a variety of specialists allowing patients to address many of their healthcare needs in one location. Competitive salary and benefits offered. 

The Division of Endocrinology falls within the Department of Medicine at South Nassau Communities Hospital, which is comprised of 400 voluntary and full time Internists and subspecialists. The hospital is beginning an internal medicine residency program in July 2019 and there will be opportunity as desired to work with senior residents on an outpatient basis. The hospital is designated a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). 

Position Description:
  • Serve a diverse population and live in a region with excellent school districts and easy access to Manhattan
  • Clinical Support staff: Nurses, medical assistants and Certified Diabetes Educators
  • EMR system: Allscripts/ Athena
  • No teaching or research required
  • Administrative duties in coordination with the Metabolic Disorders Service Line Administrator

  • Work in collaboration with a full service Diabetes Education Center located within blocks of the practice site

Position Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology 
  • Committed to South Nassau Communities Hospital and the communities we serve
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • A system work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven health system
  • Experience with the various glucose monitoring systems and insulin delivery devices such as: continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump therapy, and insulin pens
