Job Description

South Nassau Communities Hospital is currently seeking a full-time pediatric hospitalist to join its practice in Long Island. The practice is located at One Healthy Way, Oceanside, NY 11572 in a diverse community with excellent school districts and numerous cultural activities. South Nassau Communities Hospitalist will be joining the Mount Sinai Health Care System and will be developing and expanding pediatric services. The Department of Pediatrics is expanding its Hospitalist Services to meet the increasing needs of our growing Department.  Our Hospitalists are responsible for the care of pediatric patients on the floor.  They also provide coverage for the delivery room, nursery and [Level II] NICU.  They supervise residents and medical students and are an important component of our educational program. 
As a Pediatric Hospitalist, you will be joining three (3) full time and three (3) per diem associates.  Three (3) [12-hour] shifts are considered full time and are split between days and nights, weekdays and weekends.  Outpatient sessions are being planned. Hospitalists have teaching responsibilities for residents and students. Research opportunities available, if desired.  No administrative duties are required. Position Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics
